Grand Opening of Vị Huế Restaurant: A Green Culinary Symbol in the Ancient Capital

A New Culinary Destination in Hue Welcomes the National Tourism Year 2025
Thua Thien Hue, December 22, 2024 – The National Tourism Year – Hue 2025 is expected to draw numerous international and domestic visitors to explore Hue, promoting comprehensive growth in Hue’s tourism in terms of scale, service quality, and visitor demographics. This development aims to ensure sustainable practices while elevating service standards to an exceptional level. To celebrate the National Tourism Year 2025, Vị Huế Restaurant officially opens on December 22, 2024, positioning itself as a leading sustainable and green restaurant in Hue.
Hue’s Vision for Tourism in 2025
The National Tourism Year – Hue 2025, themed “Hue – Ancient Capital, New Opportunities,” is a significant cultural, economic, and tourism event at both national and international levels. It coincides with the Hue Festival 2025, the 50th anniversary of Thua Thien Hue’s liberation, and other major celebrations. This initiative highlights Hue’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage and its unique tourism offerings to attract domestic and international visitors, paving the way for a breakthrough in Hue’s tourism and socio-economic development.
With its transformation into a centrally governed city in 2025, Hue faces the challenge of increasing visitor stays, as the average duration remains low. Currently, self-booking family travelers stay an average of two days, while tour groups spend only 1.7 days in Hue. Limited accommodations, infrequent flights, and a lack of international routes further compound the issue. Additionally, shopping and entertainment options remain underdeveloped, providing little incentive for tourists to extend their visits.

Dr. Pham Ha, Chairman and CEO of Lux Group, emphasizes the importance of enriching Hue’s tourism offerings:

“Hue is renowned for its culinary and cultural richness. By promoting activities like nighttime heritage tours, culinary experiences, and evening entertainment, we can deepen the visitor experience. Hue’s diverse culinary heritage—from royal cuisine to vegetarian and folk dishes—offers a treasure trove of opportunities to create unique, memorable experiences for tourists.”
Vị Huế: Culinary Excellence Meets Sustainability
Part of the Vị Vietnam Restaurant chain, Vị Huế combines the cultural and historical beauty of Hue with fine dining. Guests are invited to savor Hue’s signature dishes while embarking on a journey that connects them to the history, art, and natural beauty of the ancient capital. More than just a restaurant, Vị Huế represents a cultural and sustainable dining destination.
Dr. Pham Ha elaborates:
“Sustainable tourism is now a global trend, as travelers seek culturally rich, environmentally friendly experiences that also benefit local communities. Vị Huế not only honors Hue’s culinary traditions but also pioneers sustainable practices, offering a unique space where guests can connect with the destination and its people.”
Located in the heart of Hue on Vo Thi Sau Street, Vị Huế boasts a sophisticated and green design across 400m², accommodating 200 diners. The two-story restaurant features architectural elements inspired by Hue’s cultural identity, offering a fine dining experience that elevates local and royal dishes to an art form.

With this direction, Vị Huế aims to earn the prestigious MICHELIN Green Star, a global recognition for restaurants leading in sustainable gastronomy.
Bát Trân Menu: Culinary Royalty Meets Local Delights

  • Elegant main dining areas.
  • Luxurious VIP rooms for private gatherings.
  • Outdoor seating amidst lush greenery.
  • •Unique art corners showcasing Hue’s cultural essence.
The menu highlights the Bát Trân—a selection of royal dishes such as peacock rolls, phoenix patties, bird’s nest soup, and other delicacies. Complementing these are elevated local favorites like bun bo Hue, lotus rice, and banh khoai, all meticulously crafted by professional chefs to deliver a fine dining experience.
The National Tourism Year – Hue 2025, under the theme “Hue – Ancient Capital, New Opportunities,” will feature nearly 160 events nationwide, including 46 organized by Thua Thien Hue. These activities aim to promote domestic and international tourism while enhancing Hue’s cultural and economic profile on a global scale.
