Lux Cruises Group Celebrates 10 Years of Boutique Luxury Cruise Line

Reflecting on a Decade of Innovation and Excellence

For a decade, Lux Cruises Group (www.lux-cruises.com), Vietnam’s first boutique cruise line™, has set new standards in luxury cruising, transforming the industry and redefining how travelers experience Vietnam’s rich heritage. As the company marks its 10th anniversary, it celebrates a journey of innovation, excellence, and a commitment to unparalleled luxury.

Pioneering All-Inclusive Luxury

Founded in 2014, Lux Cruises Group revolutionized the cruise industry with the introduction of Emperor Cruises (www.emperorcruises.com) in Nha Trang and Ha Long Bay. These voyages offered an all-inclusive experience, covering gourmet meals, fine wines and champagne, gratuities, and port charges—a first in Vietnam. The inaugural vessel, Emperor Cruises Origin Nha Trang, provided day tours and sunset cocktail dinner cruises for 50 guests in one of the world’s most beautiful bays. In 2017, the Emperor Cruises Legacy Halong, featuring 10 luxurious cabins, each with ocean views, catered to 30 passengers, ensuring intimate and personalized service.

Heritage and Innovation

In 2019, Heritage Cruises Binh Chuan Cat Ba Archipelago was launched, celebrating the legacy of Bach Thai Buoi, the King of Ships. This vessel, accommodating 40 to 60 passengers, offers an authentic experience rooted in Vietnam’s culture, history, art, and natural beauty of the Gulf of Tonkin. The launch of Emperor Cruises Grandeur Nha Trang followed, designed for sophisticated travelers, offering larger suites, fine dining, and other indulgent amenities for 300 guests. Lux Cruises’ signature friendly and attentive hospitality remains unchanged.

Inspiring Future Voyages

Amiral Cruises (www.amiralcruises.com), part of the Lux Yacht Collection, embodies the values of liberty, equality, freedom, and happiness, inspired by President Ho Chi Minh’s legendary voyage from Nha Rong Wharf in Saigon. These voyages offer a blend of historical significance and modern luxury, with sunset cocktail dinners and day trip charters to the Mekong River or Can Gio Mangrove Forest.

Expanding Horizons

Lux Cruises Group has expanded its reach with an expedition fleet exploring new destinations like the Phu Quoc Archipelago, Danang, Hoi An, Quy Nhon, Hanoi Capital to Van Don Seaport in Bai Tu Long Bay, and Lan Ha Bay in the Cat Ba Archipelago. Currently boasting a fleet of six, the group aims to operate 30 cruise ships along Vietnam’s coast by 2030.

Immersive Travel and Sustainability

Lux Cruises Group pioneered immersive travel with its S.A.L.T. (Sea And Land Taste) program, allowing travelers to engage with local cuisine and cultures both in port and onboard. Future plans include launching ships with accommodations for 300-500 passengers, featuring asymmetrical designs with open spaces and expansive glass for panoramic views. As part of their sustainability initiative, these ships will use cutting-edge technology to achieve zero emissions in port.

Looking Ahead

The upcoming launch of Heritage Dragon (www.heritagecruises.com) in Lan Ha Bay in 2025 promises 6-night cruises with 100 cabins for 200 overnight guests and 400 day tour visitors, offering the chance to explore classic ports in unusual seasons. These voyages will revive Vietnam’s heritage tourism, adding the element of time to itineraries, allowing travelers to uncover the subtleties of each destination.

A Visionary’s Dream

Lux Cruises Group‘s decade of excellence is a prelude to the future. Dr. Pham Ha, Founder and CEO, has realized his childhood dream of cruising along Vietnam’s coastline and aims to bring Vietnamese holidaymakers aboard Vietnamese-made cruise ships with pride.
