Ex-Luxer: Connecting People and Culture

Ex-Luxer: Connecting People and Culture

We only live once – so live kindly, connect deeply, and inspire always.

Nguyễn Thị Huệ was one of the first English-speaking sales executives at Lux Travel in its earliest days, nearly 20 years ago. With her warm smile and youthful drive, Huệ stood shoulder to shoulder with us through those challenging times—when every signed contract felt like a small triumph, and every guest served was a step toward a dream.

As time went on, Huệ married a Swiss gentleman and relocated to the land of watches, chocolate, and precision. Today, she works for a prestigious Swiss watch brand, where she serves Vietnamese travelers seeking luxury shopping experiences in Europe.

“I’ve just come back to Vietnam and would love to visit you—my very first mentor when I began my career in luxury travel,” Huệ messaged me. I immediately invited her to our office. What followed was a heartfelt reunion that turned into hours of conversation—filled with memories of our early struggles, vibrant meetings, youthful temperaments, and dreams that never faded.

Huệ reflected on the lessons she learned during her time at Lux—lessons that still guide her today: sell with emotion, not just products; understand your customers and serve them with grace and sincerity. These values, she said, shaped not only her career success but also her personal growth. They helped her develop calm, confidence, and a deeper sense of fulfillment in life.

She was moved and pleasantly surprised to find that after all these years, LuxGroup still carries the same spirit: a strong sense of ownership, a warm and welcoming office culture, colleagues who remember each other’s names, happy clients, weekly training sessions every Friday, and a continued reputation as a pioneer in Vietnam’s luxury travel industry. “The Lux logo,” she smiled, “is still the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen.”

We spoke about life—about happiness and independence. “We are born to be happy,” Huệ said. “We work to be healthy, to build meaningful relationships, to achieve our goals, and to become financially free.” She and I shared the same belief: to live independently, freely, and joyfully; to do what we love, to do it well, and to enjoy the process every step of the way.

Before leaving the office, Huệ turned to me and said, “Thank you. I’ll be waiting for you to visit me in Switzerland—my home is always open.” We captured the moment with a photo—a beautiful snapshot of two generations of Luxers, a reminder that wherever life takes us, we are forever connected—through people, through culture, and through the enduring values of kindness that never change.
