Leading with Intelligence: Why My Next Book Is About Leadership, Not Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence Changes Everything—Except the Need for Leadership

For more than two decades, I have built businesses, launched cruise ships, navigated economic downturns, survived a global pandemic, and continued learning every single day. Along that journey, I discovered one enduring truth: technologies evolve, markets fluctuate, and competitors come and go, but leadership remains the decisive factor that determines whether an organization merely survives or truly thrives. Today, Artificial Intelligence is transforming every industry at breathtaking speed. Yet amid all the excitement surrounding new models, agents, and automation, I find myself asking a different question. Rather than wondering what AI can do, I ask what kind of leaders we must become in a world where intelligence is no longer exclusively human. That question inspired my next book, Leading with Intelligence.

Technology Evolves. Leadership Endures.

Every industrial revolution has transformed the tools we use to create value. Steam engines multiplied physical power. Electricity revolutionized productivity. The internet democratized information and connected the world. Artificial Intelligence is different because it augments human thinking itself. AI can analyze data, draft reports, generate ideas, and support complex decisions within seconds. Yet no algorithm can replace courage during uncertainty, empathy in moments of crisis, or integrity when difficult choices must be made. Technology accelerates execution, but leadership determines direction. As AI becomes more capable, the uniquely human qualities of judgment, purpose, and trust become even more valuable. Ironically, the smarter our machines become, the more important authentic leadership becomes.

This Is Not Another Book About AI

Books explaining today’s AI tools quickly become outdated because technology evolves faster than publishing cycles. My intention is different. I am not writing a manual about prompts, software, or algorithms. I am writing about leadership principles that remain relevant regardless of which AI platform dominates tomorrow. Great leaders are remembered not because they mastered a particular technology, but because they inspired people, built enduring organizations, and made wise decisions under uncertainty. This book explores how Artificial Intelligence can amplify human capability without diminishing humanity itself. It is ultimately a book about leadership in the Intelligence Age, where technology serves people—not the other way around.

The Journey Behind LuxGroup®

When I founded Luxury Travel® in 2005, I never imagined the journey would one day evolve into LuxGroup®, an integrated ecosystem spanning destination management, boutique cruises, hospitality, restaurants, arts, and cultural experiences. Every stage of that evolution required adaptation, resilience, and continuous learning. The greatest lessons rarely came from our successes; they came from our failures, crises, and difficult decisions. These experiences convinced me that leadership is never a destination but a lifelong practice. The stories throughout this book are drawn not only from management theory but also from the realities of building organizations where people, culture, and purpose remain the foundation of sustainable growth.

Vision 2045: Vietnam Waterways®

Our long-term ambition extends beyond operating successful tourism businesses. Through Vision 2045: Vietnam Waterways®, we aspire to help transform Vietnam’s rivers and coastlines into one of Asia’s most distinctive tourism ecosystems. This vision integrates heritage conservation, sustainable development, luxury hospitality, community empowerment, and cultural storytelling. Such an aspiration cannot be achieved through investment alone. It demands disciplined strategy, consistent execution, responsible leadership, and organizations capable of learning continuously. AI can accelerate planning and improve decisions, but only visionary leadership can unite thousands of daily actions around a common purpose that lasts for generations.

Luxury Will Always Be Human

People often ask whether Artificial Intelligence will replace hospitality professionals. My answer has always been simple: never. AI can recommend an itinerary, anticipate guest preferences, optimize pricing, or answer routine questions instantly. But it cannot genuinely welcome a guest, comfort a disappointed traveler, celebrate a special anniversary, or create unforgettable emotional memories. Those moments define true luxury. At LuxGroup®, our philosophy has always been Luxury is Culture® because exceptional hospitality begins with human values rather than sophisticated technology. AI should eliminate repetitive work so our people have more time to do what only people can do—care, connect, create, and inspire.

The Intelligence Leadership Framework™

At the heart of this book is an original framework built around five forms of intelligence that every modern leader must develop. Purpose Intelligence defines why an organization exists beyond financial success. Human Intelligence embraces empathy, creativity, ethics, and judgment. Organizational Intelligence builds cultures capable of learning, adapting, and executing consistently. Artificial Intelligence provides speed, data, prediction, and automation. Finally, Wisdom Intelligence integrates all four dimensions, enabling leaders to know when AI should guide a decision, when it should be questioned, and when human judgment must prevail. Leadership in the future will belong to those who master this balance.

From Theory to Practice

Although inspired by leading research and my continuing education at Harvard Business School Online, this book is intentionally practical. Every chapter combines executive insights, global business case studies, actionable frameworks, implementation roadmaps, and reflections from LuxGroup’s own transformation. Rather than simply explaining concepts, the book invites readers to apply them immediately within their organizations. My ambition is to create not another management textbook, but a working playbook that CEOs, entrepreneurs, managers, and future leaders will return to repeatedly whenever they face strategic decisions, organizational change, or moments of uncertainty.

A Book for Every Leader

This book is written for anyone who believes leadership carries responsibilities far greater than achieving quarterly targets. Whether you lead a startup, a family business, a multinational corporation, a government agency, or a non-profit organization, the challenge remains remarkably similar: how do we build organizations where people flourish while intelligent technologies enhance performance? Artificial Intelligence will undoubtedly reshape every industry, but leadership will continue to determine whether those changes create sustainable value or simply greater complexity. The future belongs not to those who possess the most advanced technology, but to those who cultivate the wisdom to use it responsibly.

The Legacy We Choose to Leave

When I imagine Vietnam in 2045, I see more than AI-powered businesses and digital innovation. I see vibrant waterways connecting communities, preserving heritage, creating sustainable prosperity, and inspiring future generations. I see organizations where technology quietly manages complexity while people devote more time to creativity, relationships, and meaningful work. Most importantly, I see leaders who understand that intelligence is measured not by computational power but by the positive impact they leave behind. Artificial Intelligence may transform business, but human wisdom transforms civilization. That is the central message of Leading with Intelligence—and the legacy I hope this book will contribute to future leaders around the world.
