What remains after a journey ends?
Often, it is a person: the guide who made history feel alive, the chef who explained a childhood recipe, or the crew member who quietly understood that a guest needed time alone.
These encounters reveal something essential about hospitality. Beautiful surroundings attract attention. Human understanding gives those surroundings meaning.
At LuxGroup®, this conviction informs our purpose, Delivering Happiness®, and our belief, Luxury is Culture®. We want our guests to feel welcomed into a place, connected to its people and enriched by its stories. The finest journey should leave something valuable within the traveller—and something valuable behind.
Luxury begins with understanding
A reservation tells us when a guest will arrive. Understanding tells us how to welcome them.
Two people may book the same suite for entirely different reasons. One seeks discovery; another needs rest. A couple may be celebrating a milestone, while a family hopes to recover the simple pleasure of being together.
Our responsibility is to recognise those differences without turning hospitality into an interrogation. We listen, observe and ask thoughtful questions. We give guests opportunities to express their preferences, including the freedom to change their minds.
Personal service requires judgment. Sometimes the right response is an unexpected gesture. Sometimes it is discretion. Knowing the difference is part of the craft.

Culture gives a journey its soul
Vietnam offers extraordinary landscapes, but its deepest richness lives in the relationship between people and place.
A bowl of phở carries stories of migration, family and regional identity. A painting opens a conversation about memory. A river reveals how communities traded, travelled and imagined their future.
For LuxGroup®, culture belongs throughout the experience: in architecture, food, language, music, art and the way we welcome people.
This requires care. Cultural interpretation should help guests understand what they encounter, while respecting the people whose lives and traditions they are discovering. A meaningful encounter allows room for conversation, curiosity and mutual respect.
Luxury is Culture® expresses our belief that a journey becomes more valuable when it deepens understanding.
Hospitality as a bridge
A hotel, restaurant or cruise vessel can introduce travellers to a destination with unusual intimacy.
That opportunity carries responsibility. We influence which stories guests hear, which businesses receive their spending and which aspects of local life become visible.
We should therefore choose our partners thoughtfully and interpret places honestly. Local guides, artists, farmers and craftspeople bring knowledge that no standard script can replace.
Our role is to create the conditions for these voices to be heard. A guest who understands the person behind an object or the history behind a landscape gains a richer experience. The destination gains recognition beyond its scenery.
Good hospitality helps people see more deeply.
The intimacy of small ships
I am drawn to small ships because they allow a particular quality of attention.
On board, the crew can learn how each guest likes to spend the day. Meals can become conversations. Art can invite discovery. The changing shoreline gives a natural rhythm to the journey.
A vessel can also offer a distinctive perspective on Vietnam. From the water, guests encounter the country through movement: fishing communities, working harbours, riverbanks and coastal settlements.
For Lux Cruises Group®, the ambition is to make these journeys culturally meaningful and personally rewarding.
The ship provides comfort and safety. The experience comes alive through the people aboard and the places along the route.
The luxury of time
Hospitality often tries to demonstrate value by adding more: more activities, more courses, more announcements and more appointments.
Yet a carefully designed experience also needs space.
A guest should be able to linger over breakfast, finish a conversation or watch the light change without feeling behind schedule. Optional experiences should feel genuinely optional.
“Present, personal, unrushed” describes the quality of attention we seek.
Achieving it requires strong preparation. Teams need clear information, reliable operations and the authority to respond appropriately. The more carefully we organise the background, the more naturally guests can enjoy the foreground.
Ease is often the visible result of considerable care.
People create the difference
“Luxury is heartware, not hardware” reminds us where lasting distinction comes from.
Buildings and equipment matter. They establish the conditions in which service takes place. People decide how those conditions feel.
Our HEARTS™ values—Humanity First, Excellence Always, Authenticity, Responsibility, Togetherness and Sustainability—must therefore guide everyday decisions.
Do colleagues feel respected? Can they raise a concern? Do they understand why their work matters? Are they supported when they exercise good judgment?
A culture of care becomes credible through these practical questions. Employees who experience dignity and trust are better equipped to offer both to guests.
Leadership shapes hospitality long before the first welcome.
Responsibility belongs in the experience
Responsible growth requires us to examine how value is created and shared.
Purchasing decisions affect local livelihoods. Food planning affects waste. Maintenance affects resource use and safety. Employment practices affect families and communities.
These are operating decisions with human and environmental consequences.
At LuxGroup®, our ambition should be to make responsibility part of how each business works. That means setting clear expectations, measuring relevant outcomes and acknowledging where improvement is needed.
Guests deserve honest communication. Partners deserve fair relationships. Communities deserve consideration.
An experience becomes more meaningful when its quality includes care for the place that makes it possible. Responsibility strengthens the substance behind the promise of luxury.

A House of Small Giants
Our vision of LuxGroup® as a House of Small Giants reflects a deliberate approach to growth.
Each business should have a clear identity, a meaningful purpose and the ability to excel at its chosen craft. Shared values should connect the group while leaving room for local knowledge and entrepreneurial initiative.
This requires disciplined governance. Leaders need clear responsibilities, teams need useful information, and investment decisions need thoughtful scrutiny.
Growth should improve our capacity to serve. It should help us develop people, sustain quality and create experiences with greater depth.
The question is always practical: will this decision make the business stronger for guests, colleagues, partners and the future?
A Vietnamese contribution to luxury
Vietnam can contribute a distinctive voice to global hospitality through its own cultural confidence.
Our warmth, culinary traditions, artistic expression and relationship with water offer rich foundations. Realising their potential requires skill, investment, consistency and respect for detail.
My ambition is to help build Vietnamese brands that earn trust through the quality of their work. Brands that interpret our heritage thoughtfully and give contemporary creativity room to flourish.
For LuxGroup®, that journey begins with a simple responsibility: to care deeply about every encounter we create.
When a guest feels understood, a colleague feels valued and a community benefits from our presence, our purpose becomes tangible.
That is how we practise Touching Hearts®.
That is how we keep Delivering Happiness®.
