We don’t sell destinations – We create memories.

How Heritage Binh Chuan Is Redefining Luxury Travel from Vietnam to the World

By Dr. Pham Ha, Founder & CEO of LuxGroup

The Lasting Value of Travel Is Never the Destination

For decades, the travel industry has competed through more rooms, more destinations, and more attractions. Yet in today’s experience economy, those advantages have become increasingly interchangeable. What travelers remember years later is rarely the hotel they stayed in or the itinerary they followed. They remember how a journey made them feel. Heritage Binh Chuan was created from that simple insight—not merely as a luxury cruise, but as a platform for creating memories that endure. We believe the true value of travel lies not in where people go, but in who they become after the journey.

A Ship Inspired by Vietnam’s Entrepreneurial Spirit

Heritage Binh Chuan draws inspiration from the historic Binh Chuan, the first Vietnamese-designed and Vietnamese-owned ocean-going ship launched in 1919 by entrepreneur Bach Thai Buoi. Rather than recreating history, we chose to carry forward its spirit of innovation, independence, and national pride. Every voyage celebrates Vietnam’s maritime heritage while demonstrating that world-class luxury can emerge from authentic local culture. Our ambition has never been to imitate international luxury brands but to build a distinctly Vietnamese expression of luxury that the world can recognize and respect.

Luxury Is Culture®

Luxury has traditionally been defined by marble lobbies, crystal chandeliers, and extravagant amenities. We see it differently. True luxury is cultural richness. On board Heritage Binh Chuan, guests encounter more than one hundred artworks by renowned Vietnamese painter Pham Luc, a carefully curated library on Vietnamese history and entrepreneurship, locally inspired cuisine, Indochine architecture, and stories woven into every space. Every suite, every dining experience, and every conversation contributes to a deeper understanding of Vietnam. We do not simply offer comfort; we offer cultural immersion.

We Don’t Sell Cabins. We Create Memories.

A cruise may last only two or three days, but the memories it creates can last a lifetime. Guests remember watching sunrise over Lan Ha Bay from the sundeck, listening to live violin performances beneath the stars, hearing the remarkable story of Bach Thai Buoi, or sharing meaningful conversations with crew members who know them by name. These seemingly small moments become the emotional highlights of the journey. At Heritage Binh Chuan, success is not measured by occupancy rates alone but by the number of unforgettable stories our guests take home.

Heartware: The Human Advantage in the Age of AI

Artificial intelligence is transforming hospitality by making operations faster and more efficient. Yet technology cannot replace genuine human connection. At LuxGroup, we describe this philosophy as Heartware—the belief that heartfelt service remains the ultimate luxury. With only twenty suites, Heritage Binh Chuan is intentionally intimate. Every guest receives highly personalized attention, allowing our team to anticipate needs, build authentic relationships, and create experiences that no algorithm can replicate. In the future of hospitality, humanity—not technology—will be the greatest competitive advantage.

When Guests Become Ambassadors for Vietnam

Our greatest achievement is not reflected in awards or rankings, but in the stories our guests share after returning home. Travelers leave Heritage Binh Chuan with more than photographs of Lan Ha Bay. They leave with a deeper appreciation of Vietnamese history, entrepreneurship, art, gastronomy, and hospitality. Many return with their families or recommend Vietnam to friends because they experienced something meaningful rather than simply luxurious. At that point, tourism transcends commerce. It becomes cultural diplomacy, creating ambassadors who carry Vietnam’s story to the world.

From Heritage to Amiral: Expanding the Story

Heritage Binh Chuan was never intended to be the final chapter. It became the foundation for a broader vision. In 2026, LuxGroup introduced Amiral Cruises for Presidents, bringing the same philosophy to the Saigon River. While Heritage celebrates Bach Thai Buoi and Vietnam’s maritime legacy, Amiral tells the story of Nha Rong Harbor, the historic 1911 voyage, and Saigon’s enduring connection to the world. Two cruise brands, two waterways, and one shared purpose: transforming Vietnamese history and culture into extraordinary luxury experiences.

The Real Competition Is How the World Sees Vietnam

When I founded LuxGroup in 2005, my ambition was never to build Vietnam’s largest travel company. My ambition was to change how the world perceives Vietnam. Every journey is an opportunity to present our country not simply as a beautiful destination, but as a nation of culture, creativity, resilience, and timeless hospitality. Our vision, Vietnam Waterways® 2045, extends beyond building a fleet of exceptional ships. It is about positioning Vietnam among the world’s leading cultural cruise destinations, where rivers and seas become stages for storytelling, heritage, and human connection.

A Legacy Measured in Memories

In an era when every destination can be found online and every image can be generated by artificial intelligence, authentic experiences have become increasingly rare. Competitive advantage no longer comes from offering more attractions, but from creating deeper emotional connections. Heritage Binh Chuan demonstrates that luxury is not about excess; it is about meaning. It is about transforming every voyage into a lasting memory and every guest into a lifelong friend of Vietnam. Because in the end, people rarely remember the itinerary. They remember how a place made them feel—and that feeling becomes the most valuable souvenir they take home.

“Luxury is not about having more. It is about remembering more. We don’t sell destinations. We create memories that last a lifetime.”
